Dr Robin Thurman

Robin has commenced maternity leave and will re-join the team in June 2018
Originally from Ballarat, Robin completed her medical degree at The University of Melbourne. She then gained experience in fields such as anaesthetics, intensive care and paediatrics before joining the training program in obstetrics and gynaecology. She completed her training at The Mercy Hospital for Women and The Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne.

Robin then moved to Toronto Canada to undertake a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital through The University of Toronto. This enabled Robin to gain ultrasound experience, conduct research, participate in fetal surgeries and work with world leaders in the field.

Currently Robin is a staff specialist at The Royal Women’s Hospital performing ultrasounds and conducting clinics specialising in high risk pregnancies for either mother or baby. She is involved in ongoing research and has presented at international conferences.

In her spare time Robin enjoys staying fit, travelling, watching live music and attending the theatre.
